In our mission to enhance mental wellbeing in educational settings, we recently embarked on an inspiring journey to the tranquil landscapes of Bhutan. This trip was more than just a geographical move; it marked a significant step in our commitment to ensuring that mental health takes centre stage in every classroom. Our focus was on equipping educators and counsellors from MOE schools in Bhutan with the Zoala’s app and platform, empowering them to support their students’ mental health effectively. The experience was a powerful reminder of the impact that dedicated professionals can have when they are given the right tools and support.
A Shared Commitment to Mental Wellbeing:
During our time in Bhutan, we engaged deeply with educators and counsellors, focusing on more than just the technical aspects of the Zoala app. Our discussions and workshops were centred around a shared goal: making mental wellbeing a cornerstone of student success. We emphasised that mental health is not an ancillary concern but a fundamental element of a thriving educational environment. By integrating Zoala into their practices, these educators are now better equipped to address the emotional needs of their students and foster a culture of support.
The Impact of Zoala in Bhutan:
Our trip was a profound reminder of why we do what we do. The educators and counsellors we met were incredibly dedicated to improving their students’ mental health. The conversations we had were filled with insights and reflections on how the Zoala app could be a game-changer in their schools. The app’s features—ranging from personalised mental health resources to real-time analytics—were tailored to address the specific needs of students in Bhutan. This alignment between the app’s capabilities and the educators’ goals underscored the importance of having the right tools to support mental health.
Stories of Inspiration:
One of the highlights of our visit was hearing firsthand accounts of how the Zoala app is making a difference. San Man Gurung, a Well-being Focal Teacher at the Bhutan Football Federation Academy, shared his experience with us:
“The Zoala app serves as an invaluable platform especially for our students and young individuals, providing them with the necessary tools to navigate emotional distress effectively. As both a Well-being Focal Teacher and a parent, I am confident that our students now have a trustworthy, safe, and supportive space to engage with the chatbot. This enables them to process their emotions and enhance their overall well-being. The app’s positive impact on emotional management is crucial for fostering resilience, a quality that is increasingly imperative in today’s world.”
San Man’s testimonial is a testament to the positive impact that Zoala can have on student mental health. It highlights the app’s role in providing a supportive space where students can address their emotional needs and build resilience.
Building a Brighter Future Together:
Our journey to Bhutan was a powerful reminder of the collective effort needed to make mental health a priority in schools. The dedication of the educators and counsellors we worked with was inspiring, and their commitment to student wellbeing reaffirms our mission at Zoala. By working together, we are not only enhancing the tools available for mental health support but also fostering a culture where student wellbeing is valued and supported.
Thank you for being part of our journey to make mental health a priority in schools. The experience in Bhutan has strengthened our resolve to continue supporting educators and students in their quest for better mental health. Together, we are building a brighter, healthier future for all students, one where mental wellbeing is an integral part of the educational experience.
